Background	Originally a geologist, Maxwell Conway, who was tasked with studying core samples brought in from around the globe. His keen eye spotted an unusual crystal imbedded in one such sample - He extracted it and examined it, finding it to be unique and unidentifiable. It seemed to glow in certain light, but wasn't radioactive. When he attempted to cut off a piece it resisted it, seemingly defying a diamond drill. After this attempt he removed his safety gear and began examining it again - when a delayed reaction to the cutting caused it to rapidly heat up and glow. Before he could do anything it shattered, peppering him with the fragments. By the time he regained his senses, the fragments were almost all absorbed into his skin. Within seconds the wounds were healed - without a trace. The crystal fragments that remain have defied analysis and are still being studied, but are VERY small and few in number. No further samples of the crystal have been found. Maxwell has since learned that he has powers that mimic some of the properties of the unsual crystals. He has willingly left the lab in order to develop those abilities.
Notes	I had an earth controller in the Star Patrol for a while on Freedom, but I hated the Heavy Star name after while -- plus the group was a theme group with mixed activity levels. After a short flurry, no one was on, and my interest in THAT character decreased. Eventually he was dropped from the Star Patrol and I made THIS version instead. Within a few levels I made contact with the Gods group, and have been playing with them, as Hero or villain most of the time during the 2006 Winter events. I originally started with a blue trenchcoat design, but adopted the supergroup uniform posted here. His secondary costume is a trenchcoat over tights affair. I had some good luck and started making comic covers for him as well.
