Sophomore. A Former Crossover University student, struggling to make it with minimal financial assistance in Computer Sciences studies. Very bright, very eager, borderline nerd. Injured on campus during a sudden lightning storm by a freak strike, he developed electrical powers soon afterward. He has experimented with them and maintains them as a secret. He has used them on occasion, but rarely openly. A few students have reported muggings and care break-ins stopped by "lightning strikes", despite fair weather. Shadowy figure seen, but never identified.  His actions caused crime rates to drop down in his first few months of activity.

He has strayed off campus on occasion, following suspicious characters. He's had a few close calls, but has always been able to use his powers to evade capture or subdue attackers. His body has changed drastically; he no longer needs fluids, and never drinks. Contact with water has a draining effect on him, making him briefly sick and weak. As a consequence he has had to avoid getting wet at all times; He know longer swims or showers, and rarely washes. Fortunately he doesn't sweat much either. Instead he uses his electrical powers to repel or burn off dirt. Having to do this in a dorm atmosphere was problematic. He had some campus jobs, working as a computer tutor in some of the computer labs around campus. It gave him the extra money he needs, and plenty of time for study and personal computer projects.

He has a laptop that he is seldom seen without, and uses his electrical control to keep the battery constantly charged. He is fond of Japanese Anime, and prefers watching it in Japanese which he has learned to speak. He has a very good photographic memory. This has proved most useful, and has led to him teaching himself many languages. He can easily speak German, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, and French, among others, making him somewhat popular with foreign students. He spends a lot of time on the web, and knows a few things about web design.

Together with Brainstorm, he has become the team source of information from the web, as well as a chief means of transportation. He has made a costume from   a durable substance that doesn't absorb water and thus dries quickly.

He's been experimenting with his powers, and discovered only recently how to teleport objects to him or away from him, without being in close range. After this, he deduced that his teleport might be changing him and his cargo into energy, albeit briefly. If that was true, he might possibly be able to become energy. With a little practice he did so, sort of, and was surprised to find he could fly as well while so "charged".  His electrified form is still solid, just coated in an active electrical field from head to toe.  He is very happy about this form - and loves the ability to fly.  His charged form is what he lets himself be photographed in whenever possible, to help protect his Secret Identity.

After his first contact with the others changed in the Crossover area, he joined them openly.  Once operatives from GenTech attacked his first group, others came to the rescue, primarily Dr. Peterson.  His teleportational abilities were taxed early on as the group was called upon to visit sites all up and down the west coast.  He has been developing them more and more, ever increasing his range.  Sparx uses web cam views on the internet to find places he can go, near preferred destinations.    During the summer of 2000, he transferred from Crossover University to the new private school set up by Dr. Peterson.

He still makes some money on the side doing computer work, whenever possible.

Personality:  Still a borderline nerd, he has opened up some thanks to recent events.    He's eager to please, but holds back a little in combat.  He much prefers to use his mind.   He has been developing his abilities other than teleportation trying to become more rounded in his abilities.   He's still timid in some regards; he has NOT told his parents about his newfound abilities ... or activities of late.
