| Background | Martin Kirkwood was the child of a Martial
Arts expert. As such he learned moves while VERY young. And
as his father toured the world, improving and testing himself, so did
the family. One expert sought out by his father would only teach
the both of them. While his father never mastered some of the
moves, Martin did. It was the beginnings of his true potential,
and one of his father's proudest moments. Not only did he learn
some unusual moves, but he was also taught some unusual meditation
tricks to allow him to recover quickly from injury or exhaustion.
While he was away at his first semester of college, the Rikti invasion of Paragon occurred. His parents were both among the casualties. Afterwards Martin decided to join the registered heroes --- And Fight! Always a patriotic soul, and inspired by a family heirloom, The Star-Spangler was born. Shortly after beginning his career, he was spotted by kindred spirit in The Hollows. Armed Forces. It was then he joined the Last Standing Minute Men. He introduced Ultra-Patriot to Armed Forces a few days later who also joined. Now, after continuing to level, both have been promoted! |
| Notes | One of the things I had not done with City of
Heroes was do a Patriotic hero, and I knew that Doug had Ultra-Patriots
on every server - or close enough. So this was my take. Originally
he had a red tied headband, but it really didn't fit. So it was
exchanged for the old-school looking cowl crest.
A scrapper was picked because I wanted to see what would happen with it on Issue#2 and as well, try a few things different from the Mr. Impossible build. I had an encounter in Steel Canyon that helped immeasurably -- After checking in with the Security Chief there, next to Positron, I was approached by someone wanting to try and see if they could get a TF set up with 3 individuals, then drop out. I was asked to invite him and another and drop out. It didn't allow them to do a 2 man task force though. But he handed over 50,000 influence for my trouble. Which has allowed him to max out EVERYTHING and still have 38,000 left!!! Recently he got some play in April 2005, and became my only character with Super speed travel power... But alas the Last Man Standing supergroup has faded into a collection of unused characters and was dropped.
