Alter Ego: Alan "Hammer" Hall

Description:

He appears 9' tall, and is 650 lbs, with dark hair.  He is oversized, with an over-muscled physique, permanently enlarged.   Arms are inhumanly large,

History:

Alan was a rising boxer, one who some contended could surely have become a champion.  However in that fateful date in 1985, his career was cut short.  He was struck down in front of several news photographers during a press event, and changed before them and their cameras.  Afterward, there was no way he could compete in normal boxing - there would be no contest.

He tried various jobs over the next few years, but was unable to maintain most ordinary jobs due to a variety of problems.  As he now found it nearly impossible to sleep, he had plenty of time to fill.  Offices, desks, tools, were all too small for him - even some standard doorways proved to be a problem.  And union workers didn't like him doing manual labor - he did too much by comparison making them look bad.  He became a loaner, doing odd jobs.  His best luck was at being bouncers for the more rowdy of various clubs and nightspots.  It paid his bills, but was unfulfilling.  Except when one such customer proved to be on his level.  He enjoyed the fight; it made him feel like he was back in the ring.

When the new metahuman operative teams formed, he joined up.  His abilities made him a given as part of the team, and he proved him self in many operations.  His big disadvantage is his slow speed versus other targets.  But as part of a team, he functioned.   Over the past few years since joining Team Atlanta, he has become quite popular.

Personality:

Alan is a born competitor.  He has struggled all his life to better himself physically, working out almost constantly.  When he first was transformed, he was heartbroken at the loss of his shot at the title.  It took him many years to get over that.  But he still would love to be normal again.  He tried several "cures" without avail, and finally gave up.  After joining a CMO team, he began training again.  He has struggled to increase his speed and strength, and can regularly be seen working out in a gym, although he requires special equipment to challenge him.   He takes risks, though he doesn't have a death wish, although it may seem that way at times.  He tends to get moody when the subject of sporting events or his past career comes up.  He still tends to be a loaner, but the few that have made friends with him know they can count on him.   Despite his boxer training, he has become a true team player.   If the team "wins", he wins.
